If it looks like our new Executive Director Alana Grier and Joevan Jenkins are hard at work organizing at the GOC… they are!!!! Well, sort of. Joevan and Alana spent two weeks at Alliance House a Clubhouse that is also one of the training centers for Clubhouse International – ICCD. Pictured at Alliance House (not GOC), these two attended full Clubhouse work days and then worked into the evenings to build an action plan to make the GOC even stronger. The Clubhouse model is an internationally recognized best practice by organizations like SAMHSA and the American Psychiatric Association We are proud of Alana and Joevan for their dedication and leadership, helping make the GOC even stronger! Side by side, Members and Staff; that is how our model works. Alana will be bringing best practices to the GOC to engage our Membership at even higher levels (First 2 photos at Alliance House, Salt Lake City, Utah.) Flying on a plane for the first time ever is just one of many “firsts” for Joevan at the GOC—including landing his first-ever job! Through new experiences like these, our Members can finally envision a future for themselves they never could have imagined before.
