Thank you to GOC Member and Board Member Reid, and GOC Board member Gail for sharing the triumphs and challenges we face. Comm. Prizzia met with Members as we wrapped up our office meeting. She said she was impressed the way we empower our Members to make choices.
In this setting, it doesn’t matter if you are a staff, a member, or a County Commissioner. We are all just people trying to make a difference. Commissioner Cornell took the time to hear several of our Members accomplishments. Melissa is now using her nursing degree and making a good living for herself. She shared some of the tough times and how GOC helped her get through them. Tarrica just started working at Alachua County in a job the County Commission created. She is part of our Employment program that provides supports. Tarrica had never worked a job before attending the GOC. Thank you to those who listen to, see, and read about our stories. Together, we can all make a difference.
