The sun has set on the 2022 World Clubhouse Conference in Baltimore. The Clubhouse Model, which the GOC is part of, is considered one of the most effective programs helping adults with chronic mental illness lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. There are people like our GOC Members everywhere. We need to help and support these efforts here in Gainesville, throughout Florida, the USA, and the world. We spent plenty of time with our Florida Friends like the Vincent House crew. Shout out to Steve Lockwood, Charlotte, Crislynn, Justin and Ben who are pictured with Brett. These staff and Members are what we call colleagues in the Clubhouse world, and we are all here to support each other.The GOC is not only showing leadership in our community. We were front and center at the International Clubhouse Conference. Brett is sharing the struggles and triumphs the Florida Clubhouse Coalition endured. It was truly a world panel with colleagues from Florida, Maryland, and Norway speaking at this workshop. The Florida Clubhouse Coalition is considered one of the more successful coalitions in the world.
The Florida Clubhouse Coalition was well represented. We had Members and staff from Sarasota, Ocala, Fort Myers, Hernando, Pinellas Park, Pasco County, Miami, and of course Gainesville.Brett is with Ami Muhlbach from Capitol Clubhouse in Washington DC, and Serge Blasberg from Clubhouse Jerusalem. Serge will be visiting the GOC next week.
