Our 2023 2nd Annual Bike Day has come and gone. Thank you to all of our friends who came out and supported us. It was wonderful. The weather was great, our sponsors were generous with the checkbooks and their time, and so many people came together for a worthwhile cause. We have a lot to celebrate and be grateful for. Thank you, Allen Law Firm, for being one of our top sponsors. They not only donated, they rode in the event and set up a table for support. Attorney Anthony Livingston, Jennifer Socarro, Ruth Browning, Lauren Rice, and Sally McConn attended. Thank you, guys, for your support. There were plenty of great community partners sharing what they do. Sgt. Shelly Postle from GPD was off duty and came out to support us. Leanne Hibbits and Steve McCormick from NAMI Gainesville were there. The Stevens family was on hand: Bruce, Brian, Joan, and David. Bruce was our first board president. This proud family has been with us over 15 years. Meridian’s Victoria Blass and GPD’s Cpl. Bill Gough were pictured with Deidra Simon and Shoab Rana. Joanne Edde, Leanne Hibbits, Steven McCormick, Rosie Russo, Mercy Quiroga, and Mercy’s friend Mary were pictured together. Riders got to choose from three race lengths designed for beginning, intermediate, and advanced riders. TV20 reported on our success. Joanne Edde and Pat Bateman shared a moment. We can’t do enough to show our appreciation. GOC Board Members Shoab Rana and Joanne Edde worked hard on the event. Joanne’s bank, First Federal, sponsored us. Our Executive Director, Deidra Simon, started the riders off. Deidra, Brett, and our Board Chair, Mike Conlon, were all proud of the turnout. Marie Fishman took a bunch of these great photos. Cool t-shirt, eh? Our Board VP Reid Schreiber liked it. From the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we had Candi Morris, Christine New, and Jayne Kuhns. We appreciate you, Terry Martin-Back, for being one of our sponsors. From the Alachua County Library, we a had Lauryn Rodriguez and Sophia Vinik. Natasha Fredrickson brought almost her whole family to our Saturday event. What dedication! Thank you, Sarah Slimak, and the Alachua County Crisis Center.
