Members and staff from the Gainesville Opportunity Center recently took a trip to visit our fellow Clubhouse colleagues at Vincent House Hernando! Vincent House Hernando

Our goal was simple: see their incredible program in action and bring the absolute best practices back home to the GOC. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt right at home.

Our Members didn’t just observe–they jumped right into unit meetings and worked side-by-side during the work day. It truly felt like an extension of our own GOC family!

Together, we’re proving every day that recovery isn’t only found in a clinical setting–it happens out here in the real world through meaningful work, lasting relationships, and genuine community.

You can see work is fun. Their front reception desk has six workstations where Members can collaborate on projects and greet guests. They have more than 300 Mental Health Clubhouses worldwide marked on the map. GOC is one of them. Clubhouse is truly international. Justin greets people and does important Club work simultaneously. James and Justin have both visited GOC. They often like and tag our social media posts. The Culinary Unit at Vincent House runs much like GOC. Do you see any familiar faces? Giovanni is showing Harry from GOC how they do their daily PowerPoint slides. Our Members and staff fit right into their kitchen. Karina is using their electronic white board. This computer keeps key data and teaches the Members to use technology. Brett, from GOC, Miranda and Karis from Vincent House have been working together for many years. Brett and Susan from GOC and James from Vincent House went to Clubhouse Training together in South Carolina 6 years ago. They all stayed together in an Air B&B and worked together for two weeks.
