Creating Lasting Impact at the GOC

We were honored to welcome Rotary District 6970 District Governor Bo Norton and District Governor-Elect Ed Lombard to the Gainesville Opportunity Center.

We gathered for this photo in front of our Rotary Wall, which recognizes the tremendous support Rotary provided to help remodel our kitchen and dining room. As many of you know, Rotary has made a lasting impact on the GOC, and that support continues to benefit our Members every day.

Bo joined us from Orange Park, and Ed from Jacksonville. During their visit, we also talked about the Clubhouse model and the need for programs like ours in communities across Florida. Currently, neither Orange Park nor Jacksonville has a Clubhouse International Clubhouse.

This year’s Rotary theme is “Create Lasting Impact,” and that certainly describes what Rotarians have done for the GOC. Rotarians are doers. They see needs, bring people together, and get to work.
