The Gainesville Opportunity Center Announces its Reclaiming Hope with guest speaker Pat Williams. Pat is the co-founder and Senior Vice-President of the Orlando Magic.
The Banquet will be held Friday April 1, from 6-9pm at The Best Western Gateway Grand.
The Gainesville Opportunity Center helps those with mental illness reclaim their lives. We call our environment a Club-house where we partner with individuals and encourage them to help run our office. From helping cook lunch to helping write grants, we help people get back in habit of living.
Come help us Reclaim Hope.
The people who we help are our members. We do not refer them to them as patients or clients, as this is not medical treatment.
GOC members work side by side with staff and other members performing any and all necessary tasks to keep our Clubhouse running.
For those looking to rejoin the workforce, the GOC also provides resume help and job counseling. We can help with job leads and help guide individuals into a career with hope and meaning. We are based on the International Clubhouse Model, which was recently added to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Registry of Evidence Based Practices and Programs.
